Playing Mathefußball digitally: how it works

Many teachers know Mathefußball ("math football") as a whiteboard game: two teams compete, solve mental-math problems, and move a ball toward the opposing goal. It's one of the most popular classroom math games because it turns repetition into something that doesn't feel like drilling.

Why a digital version?

The analog game needs a whiteboard, markers, and a bit of setup time to draw the field and prepare problems. The digital version at mathefussball.jnprojects.me handles that for you — the field, score, and new problems run automatically, so you can just play.

How to play Mathefußball digitally

  1. Open mathefussball.jnprojects.me on a projector, smartboard, or even a tablet.
  2. Set the number range and operation to match your grade level.
  3. Split the class into two teams.
  4. Teams take turns solving problems — a correct answer moves the ball toward the opposing goal.

What grade levels is it suitable for?

Because the number range is fully adjustable, Mathefußball works from early elementary (small numbers, addition/subtraction) through upper elementary (times tables, larger numbers). For more details and answers to common questions, see the Mathefußball project page.
